In an effort to save some money I have been shopping a lot less this year. By shopping less I’m making the most of what I already have in my wardrobe. While its been great saving money I do feel like I’m missing out on some of this seasons biggest trends (serious fomo happening over here).
Now I’ve never been a huge trend follower I’ll maybe pick one or two pieces from a trend & i’ll be done. But this season there are so many good ones I feel like I’m missing out. I think the missing out comes from being bored of whats in my wardrobe, reaching for the same things all the time. Part of it also comes from not knowing what my unique style is. So I’m trying to figure that out before I make any new purchases.
I also feel like right now buying into new trends or key pieces is a little pointless for me. I have no where to wear this stuff too. My life is literally home to work and back home again. I hardly ever go out. Rendering the cost per wear pointless.
I think we all suffer from fear of missing out every now and again. Its trying to forget about it that’s hard. Constantly seeing everyone sharing snaps of their latest purchase or cute winter wardrobe. But just because you’re not doing it doesn’t mean you have bad style ( even if it feels like it some times).
Thats something I always try to remember especially right now while I’m going through a wardrobe slump. Trying to figure out your own style is hard. One thing I have taken from this is knowing what’s missing in my wardrobe or pieces that I need to invest in!
