Even though this was my 5th trip to New York City I’d only ever visited Dumbo in Brooklyn. This trip I was certain I wanted to spend a day exploring Brooklyn.
I was staying at The Tillary Hotel in Brooklyn, just off the Manhattan Bridge. So I was travelling in and out of Brooklyn every day. But I wanted to spend some time in Williamsburg so on the Saturday I took a cap to Williamsburg ready for a day of wandering around.
To be honest I wasn’t completely taken with Williamsburg. I don’t know what it was, I just didn’t love it. I guess my hearts taken by Manhattan as I couldn’t wait to get back across the bridge to the city.
Part of I think was the location I started in. I had breakfast at Pies & Thighs which was amazing but the area felt really run down.
Once I ventured a little further north I did start to like it a little more. I spent the morning popping in and out a couple of boutique shops. But by lunch time I hopped back in a cab and back across the bridge to Manhattan..
