Aberdeen City Guide – Beaches

Aberdeen City Guides - Beaches

Welcome to my first post in my new City Guide Series. As I mentioned in last weeks post I will be sharing my top recommendations from places to eat, drink & visit in Aberdeen. You will also be able to find all my city guide posts in the city guides tab at the top of the blog.

So I though the perfect way to start the series was covering the best beaches around Aberdeen!

Aberdeen City Guides - Beaches

Aberdeen Beach

Aberdeen Beach is Aberdeen’s main beach front and only minutes from the city centre. Lined with cafe’s & icecream shops Aberdeen Beach is perfect for a stroll along the promenade. Once you’ve walked the length of the beach head to Foot Dee for a stroll along the sweet little streets.

Newburgh Beach

This one is a little drive out of Aberdeen but Newburgh Beach is a must see. With high sand dunes & a beautiful beach front, you feel as if you’ve been transported abroad. Lately there has been a huge number of seals swimming close to shore so it’s the perfect beach for the whole family.

Stonehaven Beach

As well as being a lovely little town Stonehaven is a lovely beach & a great place to walk around. While you’re there pick up an ice cream from Aunty Betty’s Ice Cream shop to enjoy on your walk!

Cruden Bay

Cruden Bay is another beautiful beach just outside of Aberdeen. Again this beach is a bit of distance from Aberdeen but its well worth the trip. Once you see the sand & sea you forget you are in Aberdeen. If you are up for a bit more of a walk you can talk a walk up too Slains Castle Ruins.
