Transitioning to Working Full Time & Five Tips That Can Help

This month will be the third month of working full time. I graduated university last month so now I’m a full time working adult. And I have no idea what I actually want to do in life.

Right now I’m working full time in a retail store and while I’ve worked here for over 2 years now it was still an adjustment switching to full time.

Knowing that I had to get up & go to work every morning Monday- Saturday filled me with dread. Not having any free time stressed me out but now after 3 months I’ve finally gotten into a routine that works for me. So today I’m sharing 5 Tips to Finding The Right Routine for you!

Switching Up Your Schedule

When I was at Uni I loved heading to the gym in the mornings. Now that I’m working thats not so easy so I started getting up earlier & heading to the gym before my work. It took a while to get into the routine but once I started I felt so much better after the workout.

The same goes for after work, make time to get your workout in or get food shopping. Anything really. You’ll feel so much better knowing you’ve made time for it.

Plan Your Meals

Speaking of food shopping, working full time leaves little time for cooking. Espically since its the last thing anyone wants to do after work. Right now I’m lucky to still live at home so cooking after work is not something I worry about. But planning my lunches on the other hand is something I always try to do at the beginning of the week. It will also save you having to buy lunches every day!

Make the Most of Your Evenings

I used to hate doing anything after work, I always just headed straight home. Now that I’m working full time I try to make the most of my evenings. Whether thats taking a long walk, going to the cinemas, meeting up with friends. Doing something in the evenings splits up your working day & evening.

Prioritise Your Days Off

If like me you only have two days off, you’ll know how hard it can be to make the most of them. Having two days off means I can prioritise what I want to do on these days. I’m off on Tuesday’s so I make that my day to get all the blog work done, any appointements & any errands I need doing done. Which leaves my Sunday day off to do what I please and be a little more relaxed.

Find Ways to Unwind After Work

The last thing you probably want to do after working all day is start a new hobby or activity. But it can actually be the perfect way to unwind after work. Right now I have this blog that I spend some evenings working on or I’ll spend a couple of hours reading. Find what takes your mind off your work day & helps you relax at night.

These are just some tips I’ve found helpful since I started working full time. So I hope these tips can help you!
