Grieve Review

Grieve
To quote Jerry Seinfeld “What is this obsession people have with books, they put them in their houses like there trophies. What do you need it for after you read it”

Well I raise my hand and say that I have an obsession with books & I proudly show them off like trophies. I love nothing more then to re-read my favourite novels again. That is exactly what I will do with Grieve. I will read it time & time again because I think the more times you read it the more the story will come alive.

After finding author Joshva Hvmphreys on social media I became intrigued by his novel Grieve he was promoting. I think it was part intrigue and part Mr Humphrey’s charm & presence on social media which made me purchase his novel. Grieve is a book I probably would of never picked up in a book store. Or been the type of genre I would usually read.

Grieve being a comedy novel is a genre I’ve never read much from but boy was I surprised. I really liked this book, it was unlike anything I’ve ever read before. Full off sarcasm, swearing & wit Humphrey’s writes of Hector Grieve the angriest & rudest young man in the world.

It did take me a couple of goes to really get into the novel but one I got over the initial hurdle I was hooked. I found myself scrambling to read it any chance I got. I couldn’t wait to read what would piss Grieve off next. Or how he’d find a new way to insult someone, I found myself laughing out loud countless times.

Joshua Humphrey’s is a fantastic writer & an author I’m so glad to have come across. I will defiantly be picking up more of his novels soon. Humphrey’s has they way of writing that is unique & that will keep you going back for more.
