“We’re going home Sassenach”
There’s no mistaking that I love the Tv Show Outlander, so while spending the weekend in Edinburgh we made a little stop over at some of the main locations from the show. First Up we visited Midhope Castle or as it’s known in Outlander Lallybroch.
In reality Lallyborch or Midhope Castle as it’s really named is a derelict castle an hours drive out of Edinburgh. But fictionally it is known as the home Lallybroch to James Fraser in Outlander.
Walking up the small road to the castle really makes you feel as if you’re walking in 1745. Minus the sets it really makes you feel like you are in an Outlander Scene. It really makes you realise how beautiful Scotland really is.
This wasn’t the only Outlander location we visited on this trip. We also stopped by … which is in the centre of Edinburgh. … is seen in Season 3 in the moment where claire finds Jamie’s print shop right before the reunite!
We also stopped in Falkland which is used as a location for Inverness in Season 1, in the very first episode.
