There’s nothing I love more during winter than to sit down with a good book to read. So today I compiled a little list of all the books on my to read list for the next couple of months. Hopefully you’ll find something new to read too!
Emma Alexander McCall Smith
An adaptation of the classic novel Emma. McCall Smith’s story starts as Emma returns home after Univesity and discovers who she really is. I have been making my way through classic novels lately, while I’m yet to read the classic Emma novel, i’m excited to give this adaptation ago.
Not Working Lisa Owens
The back of the novel started with “Now and again we all lie awake wondering what on earth we’re doing with out lives..don’t we?” And that alone drew me to this book! I feel like this is going to be a very relatable read.
The Last Tycoon – F.Scott Fitzgerald
I’ve been excited to read The Last Tycoon since I watched the Matt Bomer Tv Series. Can’t wait to start this one.
The Sun & Her Flowers Rupi Kaur
I’ve already read her first poetry book Milk & Honey and really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to giving this one a go. Poetry is a new genre for me but Rupi Kaur is a good place to start.
Everything I Never Told You – Celeste Ng
In 1970’s Ohio when Lydia the favourite child of Marilyn & James Lee is found dead in the local lake, turns the families life into chaos. I don’t usually go for thriller/ mystery novels but I’ve heard so many good things about this one!
I’m Still Here – Clelie Avit
Elsa has been in a coma for 5 months, what her family don’t realise is she’s regained partial consciousness but has no way of telling them. Thibault visiting his brother in hospital finds his way to Elsa’s room & begins talking to her. I’m Still Here has been on my to-read list for months. Something about the story intrigues me so I’m excited to finally read it.
Little Women – Louisa May Alcott
The classic novel which follows the March sisters as they endure love, heartbreak and loss during the American Civil War. I loved the BBC adaptation & I still can’t stop thinking about it. So I’m excited to finally read the book.
My Husbands Wife – Jane Corry
Said to feature love, marriage and murder. My Husband’s wife is another thriller/mystery book I picked up for 2018.
Acts of Love – Talulah Riley
I must admit I’m a sucker for a will – they -won’t – they tale. Acts of Love promises to be just that, looking forward to reading this.
Unqualified – Anna Faris
I love an autobiography & I think Anna Faris’s autobiography will be no exception. I loved her in Friends and all her other roles and I can’t wait to read her book!
