When it came to writing up my monthly favourites posts they started to become a chore to write.
A post I used to love creating each month now became something I was scrambling to find something to write about. Some months there would be plenty to write about other times I’d be struggling to come up with anything worth sharing.
So I scrapped my monthly round up posts from my blogging schedule I’ve been thinking of ways to share the things I love. I’m still trying to figure out a new way to do these posts because I do love sharing all these new finds with you all.
Instead of doing a monthly favourites every month I’m now just going to do round up posts for different things every other month.Which brings me to today’s post tv shows I’ve been watching lately, because you know I love a good box set & I love sharing my recommendations with you all.
Marvelous Mrs Maisel
I loved Marvelous Mrs Maisel. Any type of 60’s New York tv shows I’m there. I actually binge watched Marvelous Mrs Maisel in about a week and yeah that was both season one and season two. This show is hilarious all about Midge Maisel a Sixties housewife who becomes a comedian after her husband decides to leave her. It’s also created by the creators of Gilmore Girls so you know it’s going to be good.
I started watching Unreal a tv show all about the behind the scenes workings of a reality dating tv shows. It’s addictive, the show is that bad tv that is good because it’s bad. It’s a bit over dramatic at times and it really makes you wonder how shows like The Bachelor really work. Unreal is on Amazon Prime and if you’re looking for something to binge easily and don’t mind a bit of trashy tv then I recommend this one.
Friends From College
Okay Friends From College is hilarious. I actually gave this show a go when it first came out and didn’t think much of it. Then I started it again this month and realised how funny it actually is. All about a group of college friends now in their early 40’s, It’s also a Netflix original so you know it’s going to be a good. It stars Keegan Michael Kay who is hilarious and really makes the show. I really hope they take it back for a third season!
Grace & Frankie Season 5
Grace & Frankie is finally back for its 5th season and its funnier than ever. I love this show so much and from the makers of Friends that’s no surprise. This season we see Grace and Frankie squat in their sold house, hire Joan Margaret as an at home help who is hilarious by the way and so much more. Honestly this is one show that will make me laugh out loud every episode and there’s not a character or story line that you don’t like.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
So it only took my what 22 years to get round to watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Granted I was a baby when it first came out but still why have I not watched this show sooner. I finished it at the beginning of the month and while it’s such a cheesy show it did end up being pretty good. Plus I totally ship Buffy and Spike together..
Schitt’s Creek is hilarious. My parents started watching it when it first came out and I never thought it would be that good. I was so wrong this show is brilliant. Created by Eugene Levy and his Son Dan Levy about a rich family who loses all their money and have to move to the town they bought as a joke. It takes a couple of episodes to get into but by episode 4 I was hooked. Some of the one liners are hilarious and Dan Levy just makes the show! Definitely recommend.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
I’ve loved Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt since it first aired few years ago, so I’m so sad it’s ending. The final six episodes came onto Netflix last week and I’m finished them already. As much as I’ve loved this show this second half of the finale season hasn’t been as great as the previous ones. It’s defiantly one of those tv shows you either love it or hate it. So I definitely think it’s ended at the right time before it gets any worse. That being said I still recommend giving it a watch because the first 2 seasons are brilliant.
Supernatural is that show that I really want to like but can’t quite commit to it yet. I’ve been watching it on & off over the past year. Watching episodes here & there but never really getting into it. Here in the UK its just recently came onto Amazon Prime so I’ve started watching it again. I’m only on season 2 and it’s still growing on me. There’ll be times when I’ll watch a good few episodes then the next I’m struggling to get through one episode. Since its got about 13-14 seasons now it’s going to be one of those ones I keep going back to I think.
