Since I did a post last month on the best workout wear I thought it was time to do a fitness update.
I actually had to go back and see when it was last I posted about fitness. As it feels like it’s been a while. I haven’t done a post since July and I have definitely seen a change since then. Looking back at my post last July and the photos from that post I can see the improvements I’ve made.
For me it was never about huge weight loss it was more about toning up and feeling healthy.
I still every six to eight weeks meet up with my personal trainer. Where he sets me up with a new plan and new exercises. I love this set up because having that change every 6 to 8 weeks keeps me motivated. When it gets to the 6 week mark I tend to get a little bored of my workouts. Start not putting as much effort in that’s when I know to get a new plan.
Since last summer I’ve been more consistent with my workouts and have really felt the benefits. And definitely notice the changes to my body. I am more toned, a little slimmer, stronger too.
While I’ve noticed all the benefits it’s also been a learning curve when it comes to my limitations. I struggled a lot with my lower back when I first signed on to my PT. It’s taken us a long time to figure out what I can & can’t do. Having struggled with sciatica there’s a lot of exercises that are a complete right off. My PT’s been great at finding ways to work round this and show me exercises that will strengthen my back. But that won’t hurt it at the same time.
I’ve also gotten into a habit of eating healthy, just last month I signed up to Myfitnesspal. It’s a great way to keep track of what you’re eating. Also how much calories you should be having each day for you weight and age. I found that I was under eating. So I’m working on still being healthy but making sure I get the right amount of calories each day. I’m going to try keep up with this all throughout February.
Having a new workout outfit always helps too! I just ordered this new sports bra from Lululemon and i love it. Mainly because you can wear it as a top too! Frankly I don”t actually need another sports bra because realistically hows much sports bras does one person need – 5 apparently.
