Love Island, Hair Slides & Instagram Posting

Love Island

It’s that time of year again when the entire UK can escape the dramas of Brexit and dive into the dramas of Love Island. It’s definitely a show that divides the nation you either love it or hate it – much like Brexit.. Going into work it’s probably all anyone can talk about. The same on twitter you can’t scroll very far without seeing about five Love island related tweets.

Ah yes our favourite reality tv show is back on. Where half the Islanders this year are just out of their teens all competing to find love .. cough win some money. I may joke but I can’t help admit – shamefully- that I’m already hooked and we’re only a week in. What can I say I love me some trashy tv.

Hair Slides

Styling my hair has never been one of my favourite things. I’m more of a wash and go type of girl. Literally leaving my hair to self dry itself, I’ve never been one to bother styling or adding products. Maybe it’s the fact my mum was a hairdresser when I was growing up meant I got bit lazy about doing my own hair. The best I can do is add a few waves and I’m set. Lately however I’ve been adding a bit of accessories to my hair just to give it a different look.

Yes I’m talking the pearl slides everyone seems to be styling at the moment. Over the years I’ve seen my fair share of hair clips from the colourful snap slides to butterfly clips- remember those! Safe to say I’ve tried them all. I love how this style has made its way back around but it definitely looks a lot better now. I have loved experimenting with this style especially with curls and a couple pearl slides looks so nice. They are really cheap to purchase too!

Instagram Schedule

Recently I’ve started to take the weekends off posting on Instagram. I also find myself caring less about posting something each day. It kind of got to the point where I was getting dressed just to take a Instagram shot then jumping back into my joggers as quick as I could. Don’t get me wrong I still love creating content but the fun part of creating has disappeared a little. It started to feel like I was posting just for the sake of posting to then only get 30-50 likes seems worthless. I don’t have an expendable budget, I don’t have a lot of clothes. I genuinely wear leggings everyday. And the days I don’t I wear the same things every time. There’s only so many times you can stand taking a mirror selfie of a variation of the same outfit and not get bored.

So I’ve almost taken a step back from a regular posting schedule. Meaning I’m spending less time worrying about finding something post and more time thinking up content. It’s taken the pressure off a little. Right now as much as I enjoy Instagram I’d rather focus on creating better content for my blog. If you’ve read my latest post you’ll know that’s been hard. But let’s face it Instagram probably isn’t going to be around forever and there’s plenty more things to be worrying about instead.
